Section 6A
Prohibition On Making Registration And Issuing Certificate:
(1) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this Act, it is prohibited to register any personal events including marriages which are void under the prevailing and issue certificates thereof.
(2) If it is requested for the registration of any personal event pursuant to sub-section (1), separate records of the event shall be maintained and the matter shall be submitted to the concerned body or authority to take action in relation to that matter in accordance with the prevailing law.
(3) Nothing contained in this Section shall prejudice the matter requiring registration of the birth of an infant born as a consequence of the marriage that is void.
